AYTT 300

ADVANCE YOUR PRACTICE. ENRICH YOUR TEACHING

The Anahata Yoga Teacher Training 300-hour Program consists of five modules that delve deeper into the subtleties and advanced stages of teaching yoga. Modules 1-4 may be taken in any order, with module 5 being the final. You’ll have five years to complete the entire program. Each module includes 60 classroom hours. All throughout the AYTT 300-hour, you will explore weaving the ethical practices of yoga through your life and your teaching through deep study of the Yamas & Niyamas, as well as a deeper exploration of the koshas – the layers of our being. Even if you don’t see yourself completing the entire 300-hour program, you can take any of these modules to enhance your yoga teaching.

Anahata’s unique self-inquiry based approach to teaching lays the foundation for exploring the deeper aspects of yoga. Our 300-hour yoga teacher training modules provide a rich & diverse set of skills for personal transformation and professional growth.

Required Modules:

Anatomy: Body, Breath & Movement

In this module, we’ll revisit the foundational elements of anatomy as taught in Anahata’s 200 hour program and go deeper into understanding the intelligence of the body’s structure, systems and processes. We’ll study the mechanics of breathing, fine tune our interoception (what’s happening internally) and proprioception (where the body is in space) skills, and learn how to compassionately support students living with pain and injury.

We’ll learn to appreciate and relate lovingly to our own body and its workings. And in doing so, we’ll develop our anatomical language and learn to use it confidently as a yoga teacher.

Kosha: Annamaya Kosha| Yama: Ahimsa | Niyama: Santosha

2024 Dates: TBD

The Chakra System: The Divine Blueprint of our Energy Bodies.

Yoga postures open doorways to our physical, mental, spiritual, emotional and energetic bodies. In this module, we’ll focus on the chakra system, the divine blueprint for our energy bodies. The foundation of the module is learning to access and balance the energy of each chakra, clearing away self-limiting beliefs and blockages (the liberating current). You’ll learn postures and flows, themes and language choices, meditations, mantras, and mudras as well as psychological archetypes for each chakra. Your own understanding of the chakras will be enriched and your ability to guide others through their own chakra exploration will be firmly established. Another layer of the module is exploring the manifesting current of the chakra system. Beginning with the crown chakra and moving downward to the root chakra, each participant will explore manifesting something meaningful to them.

Kosha: Vijnanamaya Kosha | Yama: Asteya | Niyama: Saucha

2024 Dates: TBD

Meditation: The Foundational Practice.

Meditation is the “glue”, the foundational yoga practice, that connects us to Divine Consciousness within. It connects us to the core of who we really are – beings of innate peace and calm. We’ll explore many methods to support us along the internal quest for connection. Navigating life with the knowledge that you can access this core of calm anytime can cultivate clarity, confidence, resiliency, and trust. This module includes one overnight meditation retreat.

Kosha: Pranamaya Kosha | Yama: Aparigraha | Niyama: Tapas

2023 Dates: Every 2nd Saturday of the month beginning March 11th til Sept 9th. Every 4th Thursday of the month beginning March 23rd til Sept 28th.

Ayurveda: Integrating the Science of Life into your Teaching.

Ayurveda, translated as “The Science of Life”, has been a resource for restoring balance in the body for thousands of years. In this module, you’ll learn how the sciences of Yoga and Ayurveda can become more effective healing tools when they are combined. You’ll cultivate a deeper understanding of the doshas, key foundational concepts in the tradition of Ayurveda. When we incorporate the doshas into our yoga practice, we are better able to understand ourselves, and the world around us. Teaching yoga from the foundation of the doshas will enrich your own practice and cultivate diverse experiences for your students.

Kosha: Manomaya Kosha | Yama: Satya | Niyama: Svadhyaya

2023/24 Dates: TBD

Living Yoga: Deepening Your Ability to Teach

The final module after completing modules 1-4

Yoga is sometimes thought of as only the physical practice, yet there is much more to living your yoga than building a strong and flexible body. In this module, we’ll explore teaching yoga through a variety of lenses and on a very personal level, the deeper philosophical aspects of yoga and how to weave them into your life and ultimately your teaching.
